National policy structure: 
The objects of this Act are the following: (a) to assist the Commonwealth to monitor fuel security to aid the Commonwealth to develop policy relating to the prevention of, or preparation for, fuel supply disruptions or potential disruptions; (b) to assist the Commonwealth to give effect to Australia’s obligations under the Agreement, or under any other international agreement to which Australia is a party relating to: (i) international energy security; or (ii) the reporting of data relating to petroleum, other fuels or fuel‑related products; (c) to facilitate the publication of information relating to Australia’s petroleum and other fuel markets; (d) to support the implementation of the Fuel Security Act 2021.
